If, like me, you've been equally impressed with this labels' succession of quality releases then this wont disappoint you either. For not only does the 'Ralf GUM & CrisP Vocal Mix’ contain one irresistibly squelchy baseline but also joyous horns and, of course, Inaya Day's always dependable vocals. This does just what it says in the title.

Kicking off with the main vocal mix, Ralf has used a kind of "whaap" bass to stiffen up the lower end of the track, which I'm pleased to say compliments the percussion and Inaya's vocal well. My favorite track of the package though is the "Sugar Beat Dub". It has lovely jazzy overtones, soft rhodes and synth pads, live broken beat percussion and phased vocal stabs from Inaya. Check it.

Ralf GUM delivers another first class production on his GOGO imprint looking to duplicate the success of his last release Deep Bros. feat. Dawn Tallman - "Go Deep" which took the industry by storm. This has a great distinctive groove to it created by a nice deep rolling bassline which adds great flava' to the track, solid drum programming and subtle harmonies with well worked instrumentation are all lead by with a really good song performed by one of the most popular and respected female singers around at the moment Inaya Day. GOGO Music are certainly on fire at the moment and is definitely a label to keep your eyes on in 2004.

Yeah, this is what we like. Inaya Day seems to be one EVERY quality label these days. Ralf GUM and CrisP feature Mrs. Day’s voice on some fierce beats and create a stomping tune that you’ll love, if you liked “Nobody can touch me”. On the b-side is a great SUGAR BEAT dub for the more lounge sound loving DJs - full of percussions and the voice subtle used in the background. A must-buy and must-play for these early spring days.

Another day, another Inaya Day track, and this time the New York diva has teamed up with Germany’s Ralf Gum. The original mix is exactly what you’d imagine it to be, with lush keys and crisp percussion paving the way for Ms Day’s silky vocals. On the flip Sugar Beat deliver a neat alternative with a mellower take on the song, but in all honesty it’s pretty hard to look past the original mix. 4/5

Ralf GUM è tornato, e lo fa con la solita classe ed eleganza, presentandoci stavolta un brano in compagnia di Inaya Day, che ci propone un'altra grande performance vocale e con la collaborazione di ChrisP. "What I like" è uno dei promo più "hot" in circolazione in questo momento, un disco che prosegue nella linea classica della GOGO Music, fatta di prodotti di gran classe e altissima qualità. Indovinatissima anche la composizione del vinile che ci offre sul retro due interessantissimi dub remixes molto diversi tra loro e che completano un prodotto già di per se fortissimo. La A side si apre con la "Ralf GUM & CrisP Vocal mix", una versione in classico stile vocal-soulful house, bello e caratteristico per sonorità il giro di basso, ispirata ed intensa l'interpretazione di Inaya Day, chitarrina ritmica molto funky, pads e interventi di fiati fanno il resto ed il risultato è a dir poco affascinate, segue la versione strumentale. La B side è aperta dal "SUGAR BEAT Dub", una versione lounge e cool da brividi, raffinata ed elegantissima, una vera delizia per le orecchie. Chiude il disco la "2 Soundz space funk dub", versione aggressiva e coinvolgente, potente in pista grazie al suo dirompente giro di basso e indovinatissima nell'arrangiamento, semplice ma di grande presa. Insomma "What I like" di Ralf GUM & Inaya Day è uno dei dischi più belli e completi in circolazione al momento, non lasciatevelo sfuggire assolutamente ! "What I like".....is what I like.

Ganz gemütlich beginnt der Vocal Mix mit klaren Percussions. Die bestechenden Vocals von Inaya Day auf einem Klangteppich aus Bass und Bläsern. Kaum ein Vocalhouse-Track, der ruhig und groovy zugleich daherkommt! Die richtige Wahl wenn Dein Herz für House schlägt! Wer sich nur von der Musik bewegen lassen mag, der wählt das Instrumental. Auf der O-Side (so bezeichnete B-Seite) finden sich 2 Dubmixes von Sugar Beat und 2 Soundz. Wie es sich für eine Dub-Version gehört schaukeln die beiden Tracks gemütlich in Richtung Sonne und versüßen uns den Morgen! Ein Tipp für die heißen Tage!
